POD BLOTZ
Pod Blotz is artist Suzy Poling from Oakland, California. The project is experimental and combines sonic tones with tape manipulation, vocals, theremin and organ drone. Pod Blotz aural sounds are very textured and accompany a stark visual component of video, mirrors and light experiments. Its informed by Musique Concrete and Science Fiction concepts and soundtracks.

OS OVNI
New found lands of synth drone melodies by a duo from Austin TX. Tunes about ufo love cuddled in oscillator chilled hypno-beats.

MICOSE AND THE MAUS MAUS
Their arsenal of pedals freak-wired to circuit-bent sequencers, a guitar and a cymbal orchestrate swoons of ambient bliss-outs. Serra’s partner, a raggedy looking German punk (who had a sweet half-Mohawk), would take a bow normally used for violin or cello and swipe out processed noise from a cymbal, while Serra ambidextrously controlled pedals and sequencers. Their piece lasted for a solid 15 minutes without any breaks or stops.

OMEBI
Omebi’s songs are more about the spaces between sounds than verse/chorus/verse zzzzzz-dom. It’s Karen Dalton gulping for air in between words, it’s Robert Johnson’s fingers reaching for the next chord, it’s the very walls of a church absorbing and buzzing with the sounds of Sacred harp singers, it’s Sonic Boom’s amps singing sweetly to one another long after all of the humans have left. This reviewer was somewhat reminded of Charalambides, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Fursaxa, the long forgotten Zeek Sheek and the Slits, but then again, it was nothing like any of them.

TERROR APART
From the distant future, blasts the primordial past’s trumpeteer, whispering hungry ghost’s wails long forgotten but not lost …. Regardless of ones individual beliefs, as each note has a different tuning from the conventional musical scale, these tones provide a new stimulus to the mind and physical system. Its recently accepted by scientists; that by just providing the brain with new input alone, has many benefits; in relation to brain plasticity (keeping the mind young healthy and active). As the mind becomes healthy the physical body responds and also reaps its own reward.
